How long does it take for membership approval? I want to use my groupee login to post at the eve community of a newspaper.
I registered months ago, and updated registration last week. I still get the message:


"Please note that your membership is not yet active for the following reason(s):
-- Awaiting Approval: we have not yet approved your membership.


But, I can post here, change profile, etc. It seems my Groupee account is good everywhere except http://community.meridianstar.com/eve

It seems I'm a permanent guest. <sigh>

Hi! I'm sorry you've run into trouble registering! Your Groupee login is active, but the particular community you're trying to join is currently using a manual approval process for membership. That part of the registration process is not in our hands; it's at the discretion of the community owners. I'd suggest that you use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of that page, and send them a direct email inquiring about your registration.

If you don't get a response, by all means come back here and let me know, and I'll see if I can help you find another contact avenue for them.

Thanks Rosemary! But, alas...

I sent a begging cordial email to the "contact us" gentleman. After a week, still no response, and when I log in to the newspaper's forum, I'm still "Awaiting Approval."

Just to test, I also have tried another login, using a second name and email address, and that persona is also in Limbo land.

Meanwhile, I have opinions with which to share in that community, and they are forever muzzled. I believe I shall now email the "feedback" and other contacts at the Meridian Star website, in hopes to prod "Ben Lockridge" to read and respond to email. And then I'll find someone to talk to about these repressed feelings. Confused

My registration is also on hold. Have you considered calling the newspaper?

Success, finally! The email to the "contact us" had no response, so I emailed others in the newspaper to ask what was up.

The "contact us" responded, and said he received no email from me. My guess is that my email provider, Email.com, is on a block list. I had to change to a Yahoo address, and change my name because "Muscadine" was taken.

The annoying part is that the "contact us" at the newspaper says he does NOT manually approve registrations. This contradicts what Rosemary (above) and the website itself says. Something is amiss. Anyway, Scuppernog is in and ready to opine!
